Four former elite referees join expanding pool of CEV Referee Coaches
News
Earlier this week, the European Refereeing Commission (ERC) ran a webinar specifically addressed to a small group of former elite international referees who will now continue their involvement in the European Volleyball family in their new capacity as CEV Referee Coaches. The group includes Benoît Horcholle (France), Onur Hosnut (Türkiye), Susana Maria Rodriguez Jativa (Spain), and Philippe Schürmann (Liechtenstein).
This move continues the ERC’s strategic policy of expanding their pool of highly qualified Referee Coaches to support the provision of refereeing and officiating of the highest standards across all European competitions. The four newly selected Referee Coaches all have extensive experience from the highest level of the game and, above all, they embark on such a journey with much dedication and commitment.
Under the leadership of ERC President Arturo Di Giacomo, ERC Secretary Avelino Azevedo, and ERC member Cor van Gompel, a webinar was run earlier this week to discuss the vision designed by the ERC and the sort of guidance to be provided to future candidates who will take part in the EIRCC scheduled for later this May in Vichy, France.
The ERC President is proud that these four qualified officials have accepted to join the CEV Referee Coaches group and looks forward to their valuable contribution to the further improvement and professionalisation of Volleyball refereeing in Europe.
